Commonly Known as Yellowtail Snapper

One of the most colorful of the snapper family the yellowtail is also one of the most distinctive. From it's slender uncharacistic slender body to it yellowish tail which is deeply forked. It has a bright yellow streak extending across the middle of it's body. The yellowtail's under body is white while all it's fins are yellow. Found around the usual snapper habitat the yellowtail's are schooling snapper. Feeding on small fish, crabs and shrimp just off the bottom. Average size is 2 to 3 pounds, good news they are delicious to eat.
