Commonly Known as Vermillion Snapper

The vermillion snapper sometimes called the bastard snapper is a colorful juvenille member of the snapper family. Coloration include a reddish- pind tint with faint oblique lines on the sides. the pectoral fin is yellowish, while the caudal fin and iris of the eye are vermillion. the tail has a black edge to it. Not found in any significant numbers in Texas water they too will be around offshore structure. Not known for it biting ability you will usually only feel a faint tap while he is stealing your bait. Not sought after for the table abilities.
