Commonly Known as Piggy Perch




Members of the grunt family and closely resemble the snapper family only without teeth in their mouths. The pigfish are bottom feeders that can be taken with small hooks with tidbits of shrimp attach. Not known for the quality of fighting or at the dinner table. But make excellent live bait when going after bigger species such as trophy trout or big reds. Semi- schooling species they can be a lot of fun for younguns to catch on light tackle. Which can be later used by us biguns for catching bigger fish....
