( Weirdious Lookious Fishious)

Commonly Known as Atlantic Needlefish

Any angler that has been fishing at night under-lights has seen his share of this species. Often seen hovering just beneath the water, especially around structure like the jetties. They can sometime get so thick that it's hard to get your bait past them to the bottom. Also good for using as bait when fishing for bull reds or black drum . Hooked through the tail they stay alive for a very long time, though when the reds are running this is not a probably most of the time. Usually your reel will be screaming in short time with a nice size red attached to the other end when drifting this bait. And though they can reach substantial size most are in the 6 inch to 12 inch range that come up to the lights at night looking for a quick meal of glass minnows. With an almost Prehistoric look to them, a quality that make catching them in nets a lot of fun for the younguns on those late night fishing trips..
