The Cubera Snapper like other member of the snapper family can be found around offshore structure such as oil platforms, outer shell banks, deep water structure and the like..Commonly found in the 25 pound class some lucky anglers can hang into some reaching 75 pounds and upward. Which translates into alot of fillets for the old grill. Best baits are the same as fishing for any other of the snapper species, being squid, or small bait fish.. Since it is hard to distinquish the Cuban from his closely related cousins the dog and gray snapper. Look for a grayish appearance with a reddish anal fin. Also take care when handling because they have large canine teeth just right for grabbing hold of unsuspecting fingers..
