( Pinious Headious)

Commonly Known as Pinfish

Pinfish also known to anglers as pin perch is a member of the porgy family. Are natorious for stealing bait, especially for those fishing with live shrimp. Commonly found throughout the bay system they will usually congregate around pilings, piers and bay structure. Their diet consist of mostly small crustaceans, Mollusks, fish and vegetations. A great diversion fish for those young anglers wanting to wet a line during their summer vacations. They will readily eat a hook tip with a morsel of shrimp or crab. Which is good news for those older anglers since they make excellent bait for those bigger species of game fish that they may want to seek out later in the day. Just beware of those sharp fin spines which is where they derived their names from..
