Commonly Known as Bull Shark

The Hannibal Lecter of the shark species, the bull shark main diet consist of other sharks. In fact when fishing for this perticular species shark meat is a good starting point for bait selection. Unlike the other species of sharks we will be discussing. Angler who set their sites on this Gulf Coast resident should come prepared. If ones diet consist of eating other sharks then it just goes to figure that this must be some bad ass kind of shark. And you are right sir.. Bulls can grow to 10 feet or so and tip the scales at 500 pounds. So those anglers out there fishing with bull red tackle have better brought plenty of line, cause this bully of the bays will strip a spool in short measure when accidently hooked with one of those rigs.

Able to tollerate waters with lower salenity than other species of sharks. It is not uncommon to find a big bull cruising the back bays and even up feeding stream systems that one would tend to find saltwater fish. Always on the lookout for an easy meal. Like the old saying goes, all shark do is swim, eat and make babies, and Mr. Bull is no different. And like another animal with the same name he is a slow-moving creature of habit. Until you get a hook in him or in the other case a cowboy on his back. Then all that built up power can be unleashed with surprisenly quickness and agility. And to top all this good news off is they are also good to eat... So when those old fishing trip of catching reds, trout, and snapper start to get old. Leave those speck rigs at the house and try hooking up with one of these bad boys of the Texas waters. I garanutee you have a good time and get a chance to bend those old surfrods on some species that will give a good test!!!
